PPF vs Vinyl Wrap
Paint Protection Film and vinyl wrap are both films applied over paint, but they are built for different jobs. PPF is a thick, clear (or lightly tinted), self-healing urethane film designed to take stone-chip and scratch damage while staying invisible — it protects the look you already have. Vinyl wrap is a thinner, pigmented film designed to change the car's colour or finish, available in a huge range of gloss, matte, satin, chrome and textured shades, but it is not self-healing and offers only modest protection against chips. Coloured and black PPF sits in between: it changes appearance like a wrap while keeping the self-healing, protective properties of film, at a higher cost than vinyl. This page compares all three approaches on protection, appearance options, durability and price so you can match the product to your goal.

If your goal is protection
Choose clear PPF. It is the only option here that self-heals and is engineered specifically to absorb impacts without becoming visible.
If your goal is a colour change
Vinyl wrap is the cost-effective choice with the widest colour range. Coloured/black PPF gives a similar look plus protection and self-healing, but costs significantly more and comes in fewer shades.
Durability
Quality PPF: 5-10 years. Quality vinyl wrap: 3-7 years depending on colour and care, with darker and matte colours generally more demanding.
