GoEV Research Methodology
How we source, label and qualify every figure and claim in GoEV Research.
GoEV research is designed to distinguish between verified facts, sourced datasets, market observations, calculations and analytical interpretation.
The purpose of this research section is to help consumers, businesses, installers, traders, investors and policymakers understand energy technologies through reliable data, transparent methodology and practical analysis.
Data may be obtained from government agencies, regulators, international organizations, manufacturers, technical documentation, publicly available datasets and GoEV's marketplace data.
GoEV does not treat AI-generated text as a primary source of factual information. Technical specifications are preferentially derived from manufacturer documentation or other authoritative sources.
Where GoEV calculates an estimate, the methodology, assumptions and relevant limitations are identified.
Market prices are presented as observed or indicative values unless GoEV has sufficient data to make a broader market claim.
How evidence is labelled
Throughout GoEV Research, each figure or claim is visually distinguished by type:
- Verified fact — established, non-controversial and independently checkable.
- External sourced data — a figure taken from a named third-party source, with a link and date.
- Manufacturer specification — a value from an official datasheet or technical document.
- GoEV marketplace observation — derived from listings and prices on GoEV.pk, presented as observed, not market-wide.
- GoEV calculation — a deterministic result from a stated formula and inputs.
- GoEV analytical estimate — a modelled figure with stated assumptions and limitations.
- GoEV interpretation — our reading of what the evidence means.
Source tiers
Every source in the GoEV register is classified by authority:
- Tier A — Primary authoritative: government, regulators, international organizations, manufacturer datasheets, official standards.
- Tier B — Academic: peer-reviewed and university research.
- Tier C — Industry: industry associations and established research.
- Tier D — Marketplace: seller listings and observed prices.
- Tier E — User-generated: reviews and community reports.
